BREAKING NEWS: The Philippines national rugby coach is on a rugby field near Tokyo and says aftershocks are continual and strong after a massive earthquake rocked Japan today.
Expo Mejia, who is on a rugby development trip to Japan, told the Pacific Media Centre it had been hard to get news of the impact of the huge quake and tsunami with widespread power failures.
"That was pretty scary," he said.
"It's difficult to get any info as we've been told to stay out on the field."
Mejia is in Kashiwa, about an hour's drive to the north-east of Tokyo, but only about 20km from Tokyo Bay.
"It's been two hours and we are still feeling tremors," he said.
"We're OK here but dizzy as we get movement every 10 minutes."
The earthquake hit at a depth of 10km about 150km off the east coast of Honshu, Japan.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has updated the list of countries to include all of the Pacific, as well as Australia, New Zealand and the east coast of Central and South America.
