MELBOURNE (Radio Australia/Pacific Media Watch): Fiji's Elections Office has responded positively to the recommendations made by the Multinational Observer Group which monitored last year's election.
The suggested changes include allowing domestic election observers, lifting restrictions on trade unions, better oversight of the Media Industry Development Authority, as well as a clearer ballot paper.
The opposition National Federation Party has also welcomed the report, and wants to see the government take action on its recommendations.
Local media is quoting the Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem as welcoming the document.
Presenter: Bruce Hill
