FIJI: Police chief media officer dies at 43

SUVA: Fiji's prisons and police principal media liaison officer Frederick Elbourne will be buried next week.

Family members confirmed Elbourne, 43, died on Thursday morning (December 23) during a training run along Queen Elizabeth Drive on the capital of Suva.

According to reports, Elbourne collapsed near Suva Grammar School and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A former media man well known in advertising and marketing circles, Elbourne started with the government as a media liaison officer at the
Ministry of Women.

He moved to the Prisons and Correctional Services and recently, the Fiji Police Force media unit as well.

The requiem mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10am on Tuesday.

Elbourne is survived by his wife, Sandra, and three children - Frederick, 5, Margaret, 2, and Catherine, 1. - The Fiji Times/Pacific Media Watch
