PORT MORESBY: (The National / Pacific Media Watch): Senior government minister and Kandep MP Don Polye says his Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party will form the next government.
Polye, who is leading the count for the Kandep open electorate with more than 10,000 votes, was certain of retaining his seat. His nearest rival after yesterday’s count was about 7,000 votes behind.
“Papua New Guinea people deserve a new government founded on solid, honest and reliable leadership,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said T.H.E Party candidates were doing quite well across the country.
“This country has experienced unsuitable and poor leadership in the past. “We, T.H.E Party under my leadership, will ensure we provide the most appropriate and decent governance of the highest quality that Papua New Guineans need right now.”
Polye invited other political parties with the objective of creating a new beginning for PNG to work with his party and form the new government.
