REGION: Journalists' challenges with political reporting in Pacific

MELBOURNE (ABC / Pacific Media Watch): A delegation of journalists from the Asia-Pacific region has been visiting Australia over the past month as part of a media development programme.

The programme is being run by the Asia-Pacific Journalism Centre based in Melbourne.

Over the past few months political tensions in the Pacific have increased.

Rozalee Nongebatu from the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation and Rikamati Naare from the Broadcasting and Publications Authority in Kiribati outline the challenges face when covering the politics round.
