Scoop Media is launching the Pacific Scoop Internship and Scoop Foundation journalism initiatives at the Pacific Media Centre, School of Communication Studies, AUT University, this week. Pacific Scoop was established in 2009 as a joint project between Scoop Media and the PMC to boost independent media coverage of the region and to provide a training outlet for Asia-Pacific Journalism students.
Scoop Media editor Alastair Thompson and PMC director Professor David Robie, who is also editor of Pacific Scoop, will host the launch. Founding co-editor of Pacific Scoop was Selwyn Manning.
Where: WG1028, Sir Paul Reeves Building, AUT University, 2 Governor Fitzroy Place, Auckland City.
When: Wednesday, April 10, 4.45pm. Followed by refreshments at the School of Communication Studies Annual Awards, WG308, 6pm, featuring Maori Television head of news and current affairs Julian Wilcox. The inaugural Internship winner will be announced at the awards.
