SUVA (The Fiji Times/Pacific Media Watch): Having an effective communication system influences the success of projects and the ability to positively influence lives, says a development media consultant.
Fiji Community Development Programme consultant Netani Rika, a former chief editor of The Fiji Times, gave this message during an interview with the Times this week.
He said the two-day workshop was a communication workshop designed to help participants get more exposure for their project by learning how to use the media and building relationship with them.
He said the workshop was also a good opportunity for participants to communicate with others.
"Communication is part of daily life and cannot be considered separately from other activities," Rika said.
He said the participants were taught different ways, especially on how they could relay their message to the community and the media.
"At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to put into practice what we have taught them."
