Kai Ping (KP) Lew is in the 2015 Asia-Pacific Journalism Studies paper and has been assigned to go to Fiji for an internship.
Raised in Malaysia, she moved to Auckland, New Zealand, in 2010 for her tertiary education. She obtained a conjoint Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Business last year and is currently doing an Honours degree in Communications.
Lew is curious, outgoing, sociable, and enjoys being immersed in different cultures. Earlier this year, she completed a 6-month exchange in Denmark doing a course on international television reporting, and spent 2 weeks in Israel filming a documentary as the culmination of the course.
Her passion lies in social justice reporting as she believes in the media’s role as the Fourth Estate. Freedom of the press and the impact of globalisation on disadvantaged societies are her special areas of interest.
