SUVA: Fiji's Media Industry Development Authority is now mapping out ways to raise the standard of media services in English and vernacular languages.

Authority chairperson Professor Subramani also stressed that there is a misunderstanding of the true intentions of the Media Decree both in Fiji and overseas.

He said it was important that as part of the "vision of a new Fiji", with a common identity and purpose, that there were quality media services in all languages which would help people in defining themselves.

Professor Subramani added that this was the reason why the authority was keen on facilitating the growth of vernacular media services. - Fijivillage.com/Pacific Media Watch
