FIJI: Mai Life tops magazine field

SUVA: Mai Life magazine has topped a recent Tebbutt Research independent poll to claim the number one position in the Fijian magazine market.

The results state that Mai Lifeis the most read magazine in Fiji and is the most popular in all sectors of society.

The latest edition of Mai Life.Researchers surveyed 2128 people in the east and west of Viti Levu with more than 90 percent readership in all age brackets. Tebbutt Research estimates some 41,000 people read Mai Life at least once a month.

The news comes as Mai Life is poised to launch its digital edition that will allow Fijians and others overseas to subscribe or purchase single editions.

“This now means that thousands of people overseas can subscribe and download Mai Life. It will be a much cheaper and faster way of getting us out to the world,” said publisher Judith Ragg.

“Our April edition is out this week and the digital edition will be available in the coming days. Our readers living overseas will be able link from our website – www.mailife.com.fj – to pay for and download Mai Life at any time. We’re thrilled to be doing this so close to the release of the survey results,” said editor Ricardo Morris.

According to the Tebbutt Research Fiji Media Survey, Mai Life has topped all categories of the magazine market including age groups, ethnic groups, breadwinners and geographic location.

“It’s been a great morale boost for our staff. The hard work is paying off and we have a steady group of advertisers who have been loyal to our brand as a means of getting their products sold,” Morris added.

Mai Life has more than 7000 Facebook fans with as many as many as 60 new fans per week.
