VANUATU (bFM/Pacific Media Watch): Vanuatu experienced some unrest in the capital city Port Vila when demonstrators supporting West Papua were arrested at the Bauerfield International aiport at the arrival of Indonesian military personnel.

The country, which has a known history of supporting the West Papua province against Indonesian colonial power, has recently asked for assistance from Indonesia and other countries in the lead-up to the meeting between the African, Caribbean and Pacific nations with the European Union next month.

Pacific Media Watch contributing editor Alex Perrottet spoke to bFM's Anna Bracewell-Worrall on The Wire from Port Vila last week.
