SUVA (Fiji Broadcasting Corporation/Pacific Media Watch): Air Terminal Services won the President's Award during the Fiji Business Excellence Awards in Nadi last night.

But it was Fiji Broadcasting Corporation that has become the first media organisation to win an award at the event after being given the Fiji Business Excellence Award.

FBC chief executive Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said winning the second most important category in their first attempt speaks volumes of the public broadcaster's road to success.

"All we ever wanted was to be a media organisation that was going to be recognised as the best in Fiji, we wanted our service to all Fijians to inform, educate and entertain to be world class, we wanted FBC to once again become a household name through sheer passion and dedication.”

FBC was one of the eight organisations to win the prize in its first year of participation.

FBC TV will be three years old on November 25. The public broadcaster has become the number one national radio and television company with around 70 percent exclusive TV viewership.
