AUCKLAND (Pacific Scoop / Pacific Media Watch): Two reports on the Fiji elections and the fate of the 45 captive Fiji peacekeeping soldiers held by Islamist militants in Syria have been filed overnight by Pacific Scoop’s Alistar Kata in Suva.
The team has two reporters on the ground in Fiji, on internship with Republika magazine – Mads Anneberg – and assigned to the University of the South Pacific’s award-winning journalism newspaper Wansolwara and Radio Pasifik (Alistar Kata).
Back in Auckland, we have the Fiji elections editor Thomas Carnegie and Pacific Media Watch contributing editor Anna Majavu also filing stories.
They will be reporting on these critical elections over the next two weeks – watch for their special reports.
All team members are AUT University postgraduate students. Mads Anneberg is also from the Danish School of Media and Journalism on exchange with AUT.
