SUVA (Fiji Times/Medical Services Pacific/Pacific Media Watch): A new mobile application launched this week aims to empower young women and girls by providing them with vital health and well-being information.

Girl Empowered, also available as a booklet, covers a range of topics including: puberty, sexuality, relationships, contraception, diet, body image, social issues and human rights.

The interactive tool launched by Medical Services Pacific is designed particularly for girls and young women in Fiji, where they face a high vulnerability to forms of prejudice, discrimination and forms of sexual violence.

It hopes to enable women on making informed decisions on their health and knowing their rights.

The application is available as a free download.
