SUVA (Fiji Times / Fiji One News / Pacific Media Watch): A Fiji media company has celebrated its 20th anniversary, the Fiji Times reports.
Pasifika Communications, which produces documentaries, adverts and printed media, has zeroed in on important topics such as the scourge of child labour in its documentary films, and also led a campaign to create awareness around the feminisation of poverty.
The company has also made films about the grim reality of climate change in the Pacific and produced a short drama in Fiji that shows the long term effects of the lack of waste control and pollution on people's health in the Pacific islands.
The company is one of the oldest of its kind in Fiji and also has a sister company in Papua New Guinea: Pasifika PNG.
"We have endured many of the coups, cyclones, economic ups and downs in Fiji. A lot of credit must go to our team. Our production team has worked really hard,” managing director Glen Hughes told Fiji One news.
