AUCKLAND (Pacific Media Watch): People are not receiving available information about expected risks and remedies as climate change escalates, a New Zealand seminar was told tonight.

People get most of their information about science from the media.

Inadequate reporting of risks and remedies becomes a matter of journalistic ethics.

The Pacific Media Centre hosted the seminar on ethical reporting of environmental risks, with a special focus on media and community responses and Kiribati and Micronesia.

A series of media and public information recommendations by the seminar panellists, Dr Jan Sinclair (Massey University), and Kiribati Independent editor Taberannang Korauaba (an AUT University and PMC doctoral researcher), is here.
