PAPE'ETE: The French Polynesian government has agreed to help the public broadcaster Tahiti Nui TV settle its debts.
It says it will give the station US$ 3 million for it to fund its restructuring plans agreed to last April.
This has meant that 28 people left the company voluntarily while another two employees were dismissed.
The station, which was set up in 2000, has had financial problems for several years. - Radio NZ International/Pacific Media Watch
