VIDEO: Stephenson profiles jihadist group behind Iraqi terror on TVNZ

AUCKLAND (TVNZ Breakfast / Pacific Media Watch): Independent investigative journalist Jon Stephenson today profiled the extreme militant group Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which is closing in on the Iraqi capital Baghdad, on TVNZ's Breakfast programme.

He also talked about ISIL's reported massacre of Iraqi soldier prisoners and its terror methods, and New Zealand's politics over Iraq and unlikely intervention. ISIL is also knows as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).

Stephenson is a research associate of the Pacific Media Centre.
