Bob Howarth

Bob Howarth has been a working journalist for 50 years in Australia, London, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and the Solomon Islands. 

He has taught journalism in all countries, including The Gambia, West Africa and Fiji (pre-coup).

Bob has a long interest in technology for the blind after starting the world's first Braille newspaper edition in Hong Kong in 1989. In 2009, helped develop the first printed Braille dictionary in Tok Pisin English to English for Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Bob Howarth is currently media communications fellow at the Institute for Peace and Democracy, Udayana University, Bali, and honorary research fellow at Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia. He is country correspondent for RSF for Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste.
