Khing Chadwick is a Graduate Diploma in Pacific Journalism student journalist at AUT University.
She tags her profile with this motto: Pasifika, Passion, Purpose:
I am studying towards a GDPJ. An ex-police constable in the NZ Police based in Counties Manukau and a former flight attendant for Air New Zealand, I am a New Zealand-born Samoan.
Why the career change? Well I am passionate about working and reporting on Pasifika issues and I believe journalism is a powerful medium to represent my community and to make an impact in mainstream media. It's all about making a difference.
My experience in the NZ Police and role as a flight attendant has afforded me the exclusive aptitude to deal with a diversity of people from various denominations, cultural and socio economic backgrounds on both spectrums of the pendulum.
This can only be of benefit in my pursuit to be a dynamic journalist.
I enjoy team sports - basketball, touch rugby, women's 7s, swimming and road running. I have 2 beautiful German shepherds which I walk on the beach and on the farm twice a day. They are spoilt and even own a bio-mag.
