Matthew Hutching is a postgraduate student journalist with AUT University’s Asia-Pacific Journalism Studies paper.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English, Hutching worked in public libraries. With a role focused on the music collection, he established and contributed to the Auckland Libraries music blog, as well as contributing reviews to other publications.
At AUT, Hutching is completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies (Journalism) to sharpen his skills as a writer, and hopes to soon begin a career in news.
He loves playing music, cycling and is interested in Aotearoa people, culture, history and geography.
