My name is Paul Tahitua and I am of Tongan, half-Samoan, descent, and have been In New Zealand for 26 years.
I have been in the workforce for more than 15 years. I decided to go back to study in 2006 together with the motivation and encouragement from families and friends.
Since 2006, I have completed the Bachelor of Tourism Management and Bachelor of International Business.
I decided to continue on with my academic study and ended up at AUT in 2011, completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Studies.
At the moment, this is my last semester in Postgraduate Diploma in Arts with a Pacific focus.
I have written my proposal ready to submit it for my Masters in Philosophy based on remittances and migration in relation to my people both in the diaspora and in the homeland. Next year I will be doing my Masters and considering going back to my homeland, work there and to help my people.
