SICHE Journalism Programme

Certificate in Journalism & Media     
This course was offered in 2010. It is a tri-semester programme. The course is a modular offering that has 15 modules.

The Course was developed in conjunction with Pacific News Association (PINA), Media Association of Solomon Islands (MASI). The same course or similar course is offered at the five institutes: Solomon Island’s College for Higher Education (SICHE); Fiji Institute of Technology (FIT); National University of Samoa (NUS); Tonga Institute of Higher Education (TIHE), and Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT).

Principles of Law and Media
Sales Marketing and Promotion
Beat Journalism
Beat Journalism: Police, Court, Parliament

Admission Requirements
a.    Form 5 minimum with good grades in English, Maths, Social science with an aggregate of at least 2 in the three subjects.
b.    Form 3 plus four years relevant work experience.
c.    Good reference from a Career master or from a senior reporter if the applicant is working.
