Bachelor of Arts (BA) – Journalism major (4 years)
The journalism major in a double major degree is made up of a minimum of eight courses, including both prescribed and optional courses. Entry into the programme is by special application, as places are limited by available facilities. A second major is taken in another subject, such as literature, politics and economics. The courses include:

Diploma in Pacific Journalism (18 months)
The Diploma in Journalism consists of several core courses in journalism and some electives drawn from 100 level offerings of SSED, SOH or SPAS. Students will specialise in print, radio or television in the second year.
Working journalists with at least one year's experience in the news media, or who have satisfactorily passed the Fiji Islands Media Association Certificate course in journalism (or equivalent), will be eligible for a credit. However, they would be expected to take other journalism courses. Other cross-credit applications will be considered on merit. The courses offered include:
