The Preconference will also feature Australian journalism issues, a Pacific Media stream, and issues affecting 'The Next Generation'--newcomers to journalism education, training, and research.

Stephen Ward: Global Media Ethics

Preconference Keynote

Stephen Ward will address issues of global media ethics as part of his keynote presentation for the Preconference. Ward is the author of Global Media Ethics, Radical Media Ethics and a range of major texts in the field. Ward's writings and projects have influenced both the theory and practice of media ethics.

JERAA-PMC-MEP Preconference Partnership

The Preconference has been organised as a collaboration between JERAA, the Pacific Media Centre (Auckland University of Technology) and Media Educators Pacific. The Pacific Media Centre will host a welcome reception and cultural performance by Oceania Interrupted for Preconference delegates on the evening of 12 July (see video below). The collaboration enables the Preconference to feature a stream about cutting-edge issues affecting journalism and journalism education in the Pacific, in addition to other streams about Australian and global issues affecting the practice, teaching and research of journalism.
