Kitea Tipuna, AUT University equity adviser, has blessed the relocated Pacific Media Centre in its new location in the AUT Tower on the City Campus.
In traditional tikanga Māori fashion, he "stamped" the new office with PMC supporters following a seminar about using Pasifika library web resources and the new PMC website.
Acting faculty associate dean of research Dr Rosser Johnson also spoke about the importance of the centre's work.
Welcoming Pasifika, journalism and languages staff, centre director Dr David Robie said it was pleasing to be finally settled in the new "home".
Journalism librarian Annie McKillop and web designer Tony Murrow spoke along with Dr Robie about the Pasifika media web resources available.
The group also included new Pasifika lecturer Richard Pamatatau who is steering the new Graduate Diploma in Pacific Journalism at AUT University. Pamatatau was formerly Pacific affairs reporter for Radio New Zealand.
