BREAKING NEWS: A serious tsunami warning has been issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre following a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Japan, causing widespread destruction and deaths.
The centre in Hawai'i has issued a tsunami warning for the following countries in the Pacific:

Wake Island
Taiwan
Yap
Philippines
Marshall Islands
Belau
Midway Island
Pohnpei
Chuuk
Kosrae
Indonesia
Papua New Guinea
Nauru
Johnston Island
Solomon Islands
Kiribati
Hawai'i
A tsunami has already hit Japan, crushing houses, vehicles and roads in its wake. Fires have also broken out, triggered by the earthquake.
Pacific nations are now on high alert should a tsunami come their way.
The earthquake was the biggest to hit Japan since the Kobe earthquake in 1995.
Large waves are still rolling towards the Japanese coast as people flee and make their way inland.
