AUCKLAND (TVNZ Te Karere / Pacific Media Watch): The newest building at Auckland University of Technology has been dedicated to a former chancellor of the university, the late Sir Paul Reeves, and is a digital media showcase.

Te Karere reporter Raiha Johns went to see the building and hear what his mokopuna - granddaughter student Roimata Tunui - thinks about it.

Sir Paul was a former governor-general and the Anglican archbishop of Aotearoa/New Zealand.

He co-authored the 1997 Fiji Constitution and was a key figure in trying to resolve issues in 2006 post-coup Fiji.

Sir Paul was described by vice-chancellor Derek McCormack at the opening as one of the “great sons” of New Zealand.

The $98 million Sir Paul Reeves building houses the School of Communication Studies, journalism and other media programmes, and the Pacific Media Centre.
