AUCKLAND (Spasifik Magazine/Pacific Media Watch): The Pacific Media Centre celebrated its 10-year anniversary in December 2017, simultaneously launching an investigative photojournalism book on the region.

The book, Conflict, Custom & Conscience: Photojournalism and the Pacific Media Centre 2007-2017, was edited by Jim Marbrook, Del Abcede, Natalie Robertson and David Robie.

Spasifik Magazine has published in its latest edition a three-page featured extract from the book with a chapter by Jim Marbrook, senior lecturer in screen writing and television in AUT University's School of Communication Studies, and a selection of the photos.

Featured photographers in the book include Del Abcede, Karen Abplanalp, Ben Bohane, Lionel de Coninck, Kunda Dixit, Gil Hanly, Paul Janman, Tony Maniaty, Jim Marbrook, John Miller, Liane Munau, Natalie Robertson, David Robie and Vlad Sokhin.

The photojournalism shines a light on media blindspots and human rights issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
