AUCKLAND (Radio 95bFM The Wire/Southern Cross/Pacific Media Watch): Increasing violence by Indonesian security forces against indigenous West Papuans is the focus of the Pacific Media Centre's weekly Southern Cross radio programme.

Pacific Media Watch freedom project editor Kendall Hutt explores whether such violence is endemic under Indonesian rule, following a shooting in the Deiyai district which left one dead and 16 wounded.

With The Wire host Joel Wilson, Hutt also discusses New Zealand's lack of action condemning such alleged state-sanctioned violence, despite calls to do so by Free West Papua advocates.
